Cy Scott’s Neighborhood

Between the 5 of us, we have gone through two big boxes of kleenex and working on the third. The silver lining to using so much kleenex is the empty boxes. I love to see the kids imaginations emerge with such items. One day they made pirate ships, and the next day Josiah turned his into a birdhouse which is now proudly hanging in the backyard awaiting tenants! The perch is a pencil, and it is lined with a sheet of kleenex (for every birds comfort of course), has a construction paper roof and is hanging by red (what other color is there really) thread. He checked on it this morning, still not birds! Hmmm.

As to our sickness....2 out of 3 kids have ear infections. Guess who finally DOESN'T have an ear infection?

Year two has by far been my favorite age for Josiah and now Eli. Two year olds are just so darn cute, it's hard to pin down exactly what it is, but I feel like all my "cutest" stories right now revolve around Eli. Finn is adorable, doing new things everyday (sitting up, eating, crawling), and Josiah is amazing doing all sorts of "kid" stuff like telling stories, and practicing his letters. (He will write down a bunch of letters he knows, then ask me what word he's written. So far no actual words that can be found in a dictionary have been written other than "hi" and "at". He can recognize and sound out pretty much the entire alphabet, which is great.The letter "S" is still causing him some grief so writing out his name has been slower going.) As for Eli, his day to day life revolves around craziness, and taking care of his "baby" which is a dirty doll that up until about a month ago was a boy. Now it's a girl. Why the change of heart? (Let me preface with just about everyday right now we talk about who is a boy and who is a girl. Which basically boils down to who has a penis and who doesn't. "Girls just don't, that the way God made them" I tell him.
I'm really outnumbered in the house so he thinks it's a little odd that I don't.)

So I asked him..."Why is your baby a girl now?" The reply..."She doesn't have a penis!!!"

His little brain putting the pieces together! It makes me smile:)
I have hundreds of stories like that one that make life wonderful...all you need is a two year old. I will miss it, so thank goodness I have Finn to look forward to.

1. Siah can Swing himself!

2. Eli has not had an Ear Infection since August...and has
been potty trained since about then.

3. Just Today, Finn got up on his hands and knees and moved forward
rather than backwards!

Super cute Finn celebrated his 1/2 year of life this week.
We go to the doctors on monday so I cant give any statistics but I can say he's LONG.
I think we got it right when we named this kid after my dad, who is super tall.
my little "bluebird" as I affectionately call him is such a joy. For me he is a easy going
 baby...his smile lights up our home and has infected his brother Eli with a passion
for smothering him with love. Seriously, both Siah and Eli love this kid, but no one
could have predicted the effect he would have had on Eli. He loves Finn with every ounce of his
being, there is no holding back or restraint!
Needless to say, we are all loving life with Finn and I love staying at home with my cute boys
even though right now I can be down right CRAZY at times.
Finn had his first bath with his brothers this past week too!

before halloween, we went camping with our friends. (oops the blogs are out of order:)

we had a fun one night adventure in our motor home "lastin."
Finn enjoyed the great outdoors.

Prior to this, I was busy painting the kitchen (which hadn't been painted by us)
and Chris took out a cabinet we didn't want. We still have a few more things
to do, but this is where we're at, and it makes me HAPPY:)
