I just finished Tree of Smoke by Denis Johnson last night. Sorry to say that this is a major accomplishment in my life as I am notorious for starting books (and games) and never bothering to finish them. Highly highly recommended. If I could, I would give this book the National Book Award... What's that? It already has it?
It's been so long since I've updated this thing, its been practically de-listed by Google. So what's the excuse? Busy I guess. I think another huge problem is the lack of a Vox app for the iPhone. Hopefully this will change the end of the month when (supposedly) the new development API is released.
After snagging the iPhone on launch day the new-gadgetness-ness effect has worn off. But honestly, I still love the iPhone. Everything (well almost everything) about it is done so well. I think I just really miss my applications. Web apps through the Safari browser just don't seem to cut it, although they are pretty good.
So, what do I miss the most? Probably my mobile Vox application so I could mo-blog snapshots I've taken on the go. Also, I had just started using Kyte's Symbian app on my Nokia 6682 and I miss that too. For those who have a Nokia S60 device (and I think Sony Ericsson is supported) if you haven't checked out Kyte you have to. it definitely is a surreal experience as you live post images to their site with people chatting about them in real-time.
And I am sick of the lousy ringtones.
